Here’s some real talk: health coaching is not nutrition therapy, counseling, or medical advice. But you’re here because while those approaches are a great part of your toolkit, you’ve struggled to integrate them into a whole…so it feels like nothing is working. 

I get it because I’ve been there. 

Chronic illness/disability health coaching is a collaborative process, driven by you, that supports long-term, sustainable changes to your life and health so you can feel like you again. It starts from a place of radical self-acceptance.

I coach from the belief that you have all the answers you need within. Together, we commit to listening to those insights and discovering what you and your body need to feel whole, healthy, and vibrant again. 

As a patient advocate, I bring an awareness of systemic oppression to my work, reminding you what you’re responsible for — and what’s beyond your control. We work on the things we can control so you can feel your best, and we learn to make the system work for us rather than against us.

As we go on this journey together, you’ll be held accountable, supported during and after our sessions, and given the tools and education you need to feel well. For REAL.

We always start where you are, establishing goals and action steps based on your current season and needs. You’re human, you’ll evolve, and this coaching is meant to evolve with you.

To set your goals, we’ll explore what’s going well, what’s not, and where you need refinement. You’ll leave our initial session with a plan for the next few weeks so you have accountability that’s based in your value system. This motivates you to continue growing from a meaningful place and keeps you connected to the process. 

How Sessions Work

  • I love bringing meditation to our sessions so we can take some quiet time together or I can help guide you to your stillness.

  • In ongoing sessions, we always check in to see how the prior week’s goals have been coming along.

  • As we discuss goals that have been set, we evaluate their effectiveness and application in your everyday life. I like to take things slow, so you have time to integrate and take on new challenges with a grounding in your present reality.

  • What’s working? What might need to change? During this time, we will reconnect to your deepest values – and your reason for committing to this work – and make sure each small accomplishment aligns with your ideals.

About Lauren, Your Health Coach & Patient Advocate

Hi there! I'm Lauren. In 2017, my health took a nosedive. I had to leave my job, go on disability, and figure out which way was up. But as I staggered through the recovery process, I learned invaluable lessons that would shape my future. I launched my award-winning podcast Uninvisible in 2019, because I was asking enough questions that I thought the answers *might* just help others. Turns out, I was right. This patient advocacy work led me right into health coaching. In 2021, I trained as an Integrative Health & Wellness Coach. I was later nationally board-certified, earning several additional credentials to support the special clients in my care.
